Story

Vyacheslav Arkadyevich Bykov was born in a small village in the Republic of Mari El on July 24, 1960. Soon, the boy’s family moved to Chelyabinsk city and began living in the house of his grandfather and grandmother.

During his childhood, the ice hockey coach of the future, Vyacheslav Bykov, enjoyed playing sports. In addition to hockey, he is very interested in football. After completing 11 classes, Vyacheslav joined the Chelyabinsk Academy of Mechanization and Agricultural Electrification.

Despite the fact that as a footballer he has great success, hockey has become for him the meaning of life. He graduated from the best hockey school at the time, and his career began there.

The ice hockey career

Future coach Vyacheslav Bykov started his hockey career at the age of 15 at the Petrel club, at which time he was called a graduate of Agriculture, and in 1976, he closed.

In 1979, he made his first appearance in the Soviet Championship as part of the metallurgical team (Chelyabinsk), where he tried to prove himself excellent and become the best sniper sniper of the season.

Vyacheslav scored 50 goals in 50 matches. Then for two years, he played for the Tractor team. It was there, Viktor Tikhonov, who at that time was CSKA’s coach, that he realized the high potential of the player and brought Vyacheslav to the capital.

When future coach Vyacheslav Bykov moved to Moscow, he switched to correspondence courses at Chelyabinsk Academy. Later, he entered the Leningrad Sports Culture Academy, where he could qualify as a coach.

Eight years in his career, he played in the “CSKA” team. This was a crucial moment in the formation of a young hockey player. Since 1982, future coach Vyacheslav Bykov has served in the Soviet national team as a striker. His first match in the national team took place in Bratislava against the Czech team.
